Rewrite The Stars
Issue VI: Dreams of a Caged Bird
January 2024
"I know why the caged bird sings."
⸺ Maya Angelou

The society we live in is structured in such a way that everybody is chained or caged in some way or the other. Maybe it's a personal restriction, or maybe there are other factors in your community. Maybe you've been chained for a while and it all feels so much and you just want to be free.

This issue is for you.

In this issue, we asked our singing caged birds to tell us their dreams. We asked them to talk to us about what chained them and what bogged them down. We asked for all those fears and worries, hopes and dreams.

We asked them why they sang.

We asked them why they dreamt.

Issue V was about embracing those childish fantasies and whimsical delusions. Issue VI, we wanted them to embrace those dreams in reality. Find joy in our real world, and find those reasons to live for. Dream big, dream wide, and dream free.
